Dam’s Future Unclear
CITY ENGINEER SAYS HE’S ‘ALL BUT GIVEN UP HOPE’

A pedestrian walks across the dam on Wednesday on the north side of Lake Bella Vista in Bentonville. The dam was damaged several years ago by floodwater.
The dam at Bella Vista Lake is still compromised more than a year after the Federal Emergency Management Administration promised Bentonville $3.5 million to help repair the structure.

Bella Vista Lake
The Bentonville city park contains 132 acres with a disc golf course, a 1.75-mile fitness trail, a playground, a covered pavilion and three picnic sites. Fishing and kayaking are permitted on the lake, but swimming isn’t allowed.
