SPRINGDALE LIQUOR ISSUE SPARKS BALLOT DEBATE

Benton County justices of the peace balked Tuesday at putting a measure for Sunday liquor sales in Springdale on the ballot for city residents who also live in Benton County.

Benton County’s Committee of 13 on Tuesday recommended approving:
- An ordinance establishing an appeals process as part of the nuisance ordinance.
- A request from Coroner Daniel Oxford to buy a $5,900 DNA drying cabinet.
- $30,000 for the Arkansas Visitation and Exchange Center.
- $200,000 to replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning units at the county administration building.
