Tough losses

Arkansas’ loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night isn’t the only surprising nonconference loss in Razorbacks Coach John L. Smith has experienced. Here is a list of Smith’s three worst nonconference losses as a head coach at Louisville and Michigan State: 2002 MARSHALL 38, LOUISVILLE 15 Smith’s final game at Louisville was the GMAC Bowl. Several Louisville players found out during the game that Smith was a candidate for the Michigan State job, which he took shortly after the GMAC Bowl. The Cardinals finished 7-6, which was Smith’s worst record in five seasons at Louisville.
