Seized Assets Sold, Destroyed or Converted

Vehicles, Guns, Cash, Drugs Handled Several Ways

BENTONVILLE — Benton County detectives seized drugs, eight vehicles, 15 weapons and $58,000 in cash when they arrested a marijuana distributor in February 2010.

Converting To Cash

Seized vehicles often are auctioned to raise money for law enforcement. The 4th Judicial Drug Task Force has collected $7,075 auctioning three vehicles since 2008. Another five vehicles in the seizure process will increase that total. In Benton County, 12 vehicles sold earlier this year netted just more than $58,000. A breakdown of what was sold:

• 2003 Cadillac Escalade: $7,000

• 2002 Ford F-150: $6,500

• 2003 Chevrolet Impala: $4,300

• 1998 Dodge Ram: $4,000

• 2000 Dodge Caravan: $2,700

• 2001 Jeep Cherokee: $3,000

• 2000 Jeep Cherokee: $3,900

• 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe: $1,600

• 2007 Honda Shadow (motorcycle): $3,700

• 2009 Harley-Davidson (motorcycle): $9,700

• 2006 Sundancer (pontoon boat) — $8,900

• 2003 Nissan Xterra: $2,750
