CLASS 5A: Late long run sinks Shiloh

— Jerry Crudup scored on a 76-yard run with just over three minutes left to lift Broken Bow to a 35-24 victory over Shiloh Christian on Friday at Memorial Stadium.

The Savages (2-0) rallied from a 24-21 deficit on Crudup’s long run to take a 28-24 lead, then sealed the game with a late touchdown pass.

Shiloh (1-1) scored its first touchdown early in the first quarter on a 26-yard pass from Kyle Plunkett to Ryan Michaelis. After falling behind 14-7, the Saints tied the score at 14-14 on sophomore Chandler Smith’s 19-yard run midway through the second quarter before the game was delayed by lightning.

When play resumed, Seung Jae Lee kicked a 42-yard field goal to give the Saints a 17-14 lead.

After Broken Bow took a 21-17 lead, the Saints bounced back as Casey Paraday connected with Michaelis on a 16-yard scoring strike and a 24-21 lead with 3:21 left inthe third quarter. The lead held until Crudup’s long run with 3:05 left.

OZARK 28, CLARKSVILLE 6

OZARK - Bubba Elder rushed for 124 yards on 18 carries and scored 2 touchdowns to lead Ozark (2-0) past Clarksville (0-2) in a nonconference game.

Elder’s touchdown runs covered 9 and 6 yards.

Josef Asbeck added a 2-yard touchdown run for Ozark, and Bryar Cowell scored on a 5-yard.

Brandon Lovell threw a 17-yard pass to Ronnie Green for Clarksville’s touchdown.

MONTICELLO 41, MAGNOLIA 20

MONTICELLO - Jaquarius Davis and Imani Riley each rushed for two touchdowns to help lead Monticello (1-1) to a victory over Magnolia (0-2).

Davis scored the game’s first touchdown on a 6-yard run with 7:53 left in the first quarter. Magnolia took its only lead on a touchdown run of 7 yards by Justin Dockery and Austin Miller’s extra-point kick with 2:44 left in the quarter.

Davis put Monticello back ahead on a 29-yard run with 9:44 to go in the first half, along with Ryan Case’s extra point. Riley followed with 2:33 left, running 53 yards for a 20-7 lead, after Case’s kick.

Riley scored his second touchdown on an 18-yard run with 10:10 remaining in the third quarter.

Diante Barnhill added a quick score for Monticello when he returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown with 8:44 to play in the third quarter. Will Naron had a 5-yard touchdown run with 2:43 to go in the third.
