— Bids received for improvements on Johnson Road came in well under estimates. APAC-Centtral bid $9,825,782 for improvents on Johnson Road in Springdale and extending the street in Johnson.

The engineering estimate for the construction was $12.7 million. Four bids were received with all under the estimate.

The extension would connect the present street to Greathouse Springs Road, near its interchange on Interstate 540. The improvements would allow trucks from Johnson Road to access the interstate without driving on heavily used Sunset Avenue in Springdale. The Tyson Foods headquarters is located on Johnson Road.
