Legislative Selections, Round 1

It seems possible, some say likely, that Republicans will gain control of one or both houses of the Arkansas General Assembly this year. That would be a fi rst since Reconstruction. What such a shift would mean to the state remains unclear. Candidates of both parties say they are committed to preventing Washington, D.C.-style partisanship and animosity. The tone of some campaigns around the state belie those hopeful notions.
