1 dead, 1 injured in break-in

One man was stabbed to death and a suspect was injured during an early-morning break-in at an apartment at a home at 1804 Brazil Ave. in Fort Smith.

The occupants told officers that a man broke in and attacked John Jackson with a knife, according to a news release. The Jackson's father and brother woke up and subdued the intruder, according to the news release.

Jackson, 24, died later from stab wounds at Sparks Health System. Eric Boyd, who is identified as the intruder, is in the hospital in critical condition, according to the news release. No arrests have been made.
