Support Candidate Who Supports Life

AGAINST ‘MYTH’ ROMNEY

As a Christian and a father of four, here are a few verses and thoughts that encourage me on the most important moral issue of our day.

Many politicians today are weak, confused, or overtly opposed to the Bible’s clear teachings on this important topic.

God’s first command is be fruitful and multiply - “(M)ale and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fi ll the earth.’” Genesis 1:28

The Bible teaches life is in the blood - “For the life of all flesh is in the blood.” Leviticus 17:11

A developing baby has a heartbeat and blood fl owing within three weeks of conception.

The Bible teaches God weaves babies - “Thou didst form my inward parts, Thou didst weave me inmy mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13

The Bible teaches prebirth babies have identity - Abraham and Sarah’s baby, Isaac: “(B)ut Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac.” Genesis 17:19

The Bible teaches children are a gift from God - “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3

The traditional Christian position for many centuries has been that life begins at conception. Scientifi cally, this is a clearly defi ned beginning point. If you consider yourself “prochoice,” I would ask you, “Where is the baby’schoice?”

I pray you will join me in supporting candidates who support life. May God bless and inspire each one of you.

FayettevilleMitt Romney says his management skills saved the 2002 Olympics.

He also says he is against bailouts. However, he received a $2.7 billion Olympic bailout after failing to gather corporate and private support. At the time, Sen. McCain labeled this as the “greatest pork barrel in U.S. history.” Romney refers to it as “modest” help.

During Gov. Romney’s tenure in Massachusetts, job growth was 0.9 percent, well below the national average of better than 5 percent. Also, Massachusetts suft ered the second largest labor force decline in the nation (Louisiana was the largest due to Katrina). A job loss of 14 percent in the manufacturing sector was double the nationalaverage.

Massachusetts experienced belowaverage economic growth throughout his term and was often near the bottom. He piled on more debt than any other state and left Massachussetts residents with a $10,504 per capita bond debt totaling $1 billion. Instead of acknowledging the above, he now touts that he balanced the budget which, by the way, is a constitutional requirement in Massachussetts - he had no choice. Incoming Gov. Deval Patrick described the budget as having “all kinds of patches and plugs” to hide the extent of the shortfall.

The list of Romney’s halftruths is endless. I fear that the nation cannot aft ord him based on his veracity and his past performance.
