100 YEARS AGO Oct. 25, 1912 FORT SMITH — An express order for $200 will be sent from Fort Smith to Princess Alice, Athens, Greece. The money is sent to her royal highness as president of the Greek Red Cross Society. The sum was made up from contributions by the Fort Smith Greeks of whom there are 25. According to Tallis Pappas of the Manhattan cafe, quite a large number of the Americans here have promised to contribute money to be sent to Greece.
