Jess Lipka, 51, a Flemington, N.J., coin and currency dealer, bid nearly $247,000 at a Dallas auction to become the proud owner of a rare $5 bill that was issued through the First National Bank of Fairbanks, Alaska, and presented in 1905 to U.S. Vice President Charles W. Fairbanks, for whom the Alaska city is named.
