Jordan arrests 11 militants in terror plot

Jordanian authorities have arrested 11 suspected al-Qaida-linked militants accused of planning to attack shopping malls and Western diplomatic missions in the country, the government said Sunday.

Lebanese soldiers fired guns and tear gas to push back hundreds of protesters who broke through a cordon and tried to storm the government headquarters in Beirut. The crowd came from the funeral of a top intelligence official assassinated. (By AP)
