PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Different Reaction, Same End Result

Different reaction, same result Isn’t it so bizzare that when most people hear of a gruesome murder of a child committed by anyone, they feel something about it, shocked, sad, mad, outraged, sickened, etc.?

But some of those same people feel nothing when they hear about abortion on demand. Somehow they view a gruesome murder of a child in the womb diff erently.

Abortion on demand is actually worse to me because it is always committed by the parent, the one that God trusted to protect them. Please help to stop the gruesome murders of the unborn.

VOTE NO ON ALCOHOL Religious groups have often opposed alcohol sales. That is great, but my personal experience with the negative outcomes as the result of alcohol consumption has saddened me far too often. I have seen the destruction of six marriages, the deaths of two adults, the death of a student when hit by a drunken driver, the hospitalization of a teenager with alcohol poisoning and loss of jobs and job performance.

Reports in the Morning News and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette include deaths this year of four adults and two children when hit by drunk drivers, the rape of a 12-year-old girl by a man who admitted to drinking, and a report that the Little Rock board of directors has been making attempts to control the development of alcohol package goods stores in an effort to reduce crime.

The only positive I know about was when my grandfather had heart and blood pressure problems in the days before medicine. The doctor prescribed grandfather take a little whiskey each day. He was so embarrassed about having it in his home that grandmother knitted a kitten head and body to slip over the bottle.

OBAMA NOT GOOD FOR US

Sandy Wylie’s article

against Romney (Oct. 11) was a bit confusing. Take the blinders off your eyes.

Look what Obama has done in the last four (long) years: nothing. He is not for the middle class. He is for Obama. He is a socialist, which leads to communism.

He’s not for God, a free country or Christ.

I was a Republican who supported the other candidate but was fooled by a couple of good articles supporting Obama. His speech was so good even I was fooled and voted for him at the last minute.

The first thing I noticed was he signed all those checks for millions of dollars for unnecessary things. That was the taxpayers’ money he was giving away.

I think it is a disgrace that millions of dollars were spent on this campaign (with) lots of mud-slinging articles.

Obama does not want to use our own natural gas resources. Consequently, high prices at the gas pump.

Millions of people are out of work, lost their homes and people are starving.

Corn should not be wasted to run cars, people need food and cattle need feed to eat.

I could go on and on but all I can say is God help us. Let us pray for a Godfearing president to get in.

I will say Mrs. Obama is a great first lady. I have a lot of respect for her.
