Natural attraction: Fayetteville store holds last owner appreciation weekend of 2012
Posted: October 21, 2012 at 6 a.m.
Ozark Natural Foods will give back to its owners by offering 10 percent off all items and an additional 10 percent off cases of items Saturday and Sunday during owner appreciation weekend.
New members who join this weekend will be entered in a drawing for a $200 store gift card. Full investment lifetime memberships cost $140 and can be paid over seven years with no fees. Investments are fully refundable if an owner moves or leaves the co-op for any reason.
Prizes will be awarded by raffle every hour, vendors will be on site offering free samples and the store will extend its hours Sunday. The store will be open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
Anyone can shop at the co-op, even if not a member. The full-service grocery store sells organic and all-natural products. It is well known for its local produce and natural wellness departments, and its deli has grown in popularity in recent years.
The deli offers breakfast items such as scones, muffins and burritos; lunch items that include a hot bar, salad bar and pizza; and a grab-and-go section with options such as lasagna, Bombay curried chicken and hummus. A full-service case offers dozens of freshly prepared dishes that are ideal for last-minute dinners, potlucks, parties and meals on the run.
Dessert options include pies, cakes and cookies.
Gluten-free and vegan offerings also are available.
Current features include pumpkin cheesecake and cinnamon lattes. The coffee bar uses homemade syrups for its 100 percent organic espresso drinks.
The deli always offers pick-up catering options, and a special menu will be served for Thanksgiving. Traditional dishes include a roasted turkey, cornbread dressing, maple-glazed sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. Vegan offerings include mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a hand-crafted seitan roast. Deadline for Thanksgiving orders is Nov. 16.
