Alcohol Sales Go Before Voters

Benton County voters will have their first opportunity since the World War II era to voice an opinion on alcohol sales when they head to the polls Nov. 6.

Retail Alcohol Sales

Text of the initiative as it will appear on the ballot:

“To allow the sale and manufacture of alcoholic beverages in Benton County, Arkansas. To repeal the abolition of the sale and manufacture of intoxicating liquors within Benton County, Arkansas, and to allow the directors of the Alcohol Beverage Control Division of the State of Arkansas to grant licenses for the sale or manufacture of intoxicating liquors to include alcoholic beverages of every kind and type, including but not limited to beer, vinous, spiritous and malt liquor within Benton County, Arkansas, pursuant to applicable Arkansas state law and regulations related to alcoholic beverages.”

Students Making a Difference

Derek Pyland of Fort Smith, left, and Michael Lundolph of Elkins, both seniors at the University of Arkansas, work Saturday to dig a ditch along the main drive at Mount Sequoyah Retreat and Conference Center in Fayetteville while taking part in the annual Make a Difference Day. It isn't alcohol, its liquor or alcoholic breverages. Alcohol is sold in all kinds of stores, you rub it on. Alcohol is a legal substance, even kids can by it. What school did you go to Misty?
