U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill., backtracked slightly from his statement that medical advances had rendered it unnecessary to ever perform an abortion to save a mother’s life, saying Friday that there are “very rare circumstances,” including ectopic pregnancies, in which a woman may need an abortion to save her life.
