WHEN THE huryburly’s done, when the election’s lost and won, what will it matter? Awash in endless campaign commercials, thrown side to side by the thrust and parry of one presidential (and vice-presidential ) debate after another, treated to a feast of glossed-over facts and blowhard rhetoric, what’s the poor voter to do? He may be sorely tempted to sit this one out.
