100 YEARS AGO Oct. 19, 1912 HOT SPRINGS — “Throw out the life line,” sang Jack Strong, a visitor, as he walked up Central avenue at the supper hour this evening. Hundreds of persons followed him. Strong was fashionably attired. Pointing towards the clouds he admonished the crowd to be quiet. “Don’t you hear them up there singing?” he asked.
