Rick Jones - Fort Smith Southside Recap

— Drew Morgan rushed for 217 yards, added 60 receiving yards and scored 6 touchdowns as Greenwood beat Fort Smith Southside 45-21 on Friday.

The Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 7A/6A-Central) outscored the Rebels 35-3 after Southside took a brief second quarter lead. Greenwood led 17-14 at halftime.

Southside fell to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

With the win, Greenwood has now won a state-best 32 consecutive games and needs a win next week against Conway to earn a conference championship in its first year as a Class 6A member.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 37, ROGERS 7

Tucker Lee rushed for 110 yards and Nick Byrne added touchdown receptions of 37 and 24 yards as Har-Ber beat Rogers.

The Wildcats (5-3, 4-1 7A/6A-West) never trailed and led 16-0 after one quarter.

The Mounties, which played without starting quarterback Nick Wary, fell to 5-3, 2-3 with their third consecutive loss.

ROGERS HERITAGE 42, SPRINGDALE 22

Josh Qualls passed for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns as Rogers Heritage snapped a three-game losing streak.

The War Eagles defense held Springdale running back Deandre Murray to 33 yards on 15 carries after he rushed for 362 yards last week. Quarterback Will Whatley passed for two touchdowns in the loss for the Bulldogs.

Heritage improved to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the 7A/6A-West. Springdale fell to 4-4 overall, 2-3 in conference play.

OZARK 35, FARMINGTON 0

Jonathan McKenzie and Bubba Elder combined to rush for 280 yards and five touchdowns as Ozark shutout Farmington on Friday.

The Hillbillies limited Farmington to only 150 yards of total offense. Cardinals senior running back Spencer Boudrey had less than 50 yards rushing.

Ozark improved to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the 4A-1 conference. Farmington fell to 6-2, 3-2.

GRAVETTE 6, LINCOLN 0

Cody Robinson's 1-yard touchdown run was the game-winner as Gravette shutout Lincoln.

The Lions improved to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the 4A-1 conference. The Wolves fell to 5-3 overall, 2-3 in league play.
