McGlothlin Sentenced To 40 Years For Raping Boy

— A Fayetteville man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to raping a young boy.

Kenneth Ray McGlothlin, 41, was arrested in May after the boy told a friend about the abuse.

Police said McGlothlin started raping the 17-year-old when the boy was about 8.

The boy told Fayetteville police McGlothlin occasionally “talked him into doing things” and, at other times, forced him to engage in sexual activities. The boy said McGlothlin sometimes threatened to hurt him if he didn’t do what McGlothlin wanted.

The bulk of the abuse stopped in 2011 when the boy said he felt strong enough to resist McGlothlin, according to police. He said McGlothlin continued to make advances toward him and touch him until days before he was arrested.

McGlothlin initially denied the allegations but eventually admitted to repeatedly having sex with the boy, according to police.

McGlothlin was ordered to register as a sex offender and provide a DNA sample. He was given credit for 161 days jail time served.
