College Presidential Finalists Announced

— Four finalists to become to the next president at NorthWest Arkansas Community College were announced Friday.

The NorthWest Arkansas Community College Board of Trustees followed recommendations from the Presidential Search Committee and selected the finalists, according to a news release.

The finalists, listed below in alphabetical order, are:

° Jo Alice Blondin, chancellor, Arkansas Tech University-Ozark campus;

°Evelyn Jorgenson, president, Moberly Area Community College, Mo.;

°Anthony Kinkle, president, Wichita Area Technical College;

° Carol Spencer, executive director, Arizona Academic Program Articulation Steering Committee.

The board worked with the Association of Community College Trustees to conduct a national search. Thirty applications were received. The committee met Oct. 5 to select six semifinalists, who were then interviewed Oct. 17-18. Tentatively, on Nov. 2, 5, 6, and 7, the finalists will visit the Bentonville campus for final interviews, the release stated.

Becky Paneitz, college president since 2003, announced in April that she will retire in June 2013 after 10 years.
