Bridge repairs to shut I-540 lanes

Bridge repairs in Fort Smith will result in Interstate 540 lane closures Monday through Thursday next week.
The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said at least one lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day between the Arkansas 22 interchange at Exit 8 in Fort Smith and the Arkansas River bridge.
The closures are needed while crews make repairs to the bridge surface, the Highway Department said.
