Posted: October 18, 2012 at 9:33 a.m.
LITTLE ROCK The Clinton Center said Thursday that visitors will soon be able to see the original document that gave women the right to vote.
The original 19th Amendment will go on display Friday in the center's temporary exhibit on the mothers of Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, "Dorothy Howell Rodham and Virginia Clinton Kelley."
The document is on loan from the National Archives and will be on display at the center through Wednesday. The document dates to June 4, 1919, when Congress passed a joint resolution sending the women's suffrage amendment to the states for ratification.
The Clinton Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
