Junior High Student Hit After School

A Washington Junior High School boy suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday after being struck by a vehicle on East Central Avenue after school, according to Police Chief Jon Simpson.

So, let's see - 5 lane streets that also happen to be state highways which also happen to carry greater volumes of traffic. Student was crossing at an intersection, but no traffic or crossing signal although there was a crosswalk about 2 blocks away.

And nobody could predict this accident?

It seems that if it isn't their child at risk then no one really pays attention any more. What has happened to us all?
