Second thoughts

— Sherman, Seahawks not mad bro

Richard Sherman said he has no regrets over the strong comments and messages from his Twitter account following the Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

The Seahawks cornerback said Tuesday that he was directed to remove a picture from his Twitter account that showed Sherman talking to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after Seattle’s 24-23 victory that included an added message “U Mad Bro?”

But when asked if he regretted any of the attention that has come his way, Sherman said, “I don’t regret anything about the situation. It is what it is.”

Sherman had an interception in the second half against the Patriots, and the Seahawks rallied from 14 points down in the final 7:31 to pull out the victory.

Sherman tried to clarify Tuesday that his remarks weren’t meant to be directed at Brady, butinstead toward those not giving respect to Seattle’s defense that was ranked as the best in the league entering last week.

“It was definitely more about us than about him,” Sherman said.

Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley said Tuesday that just last week he was asked if he thought Sherman was cocky.

“I said, ‘No he’s not. He’s confident, he’s not cocky.’ Cocky people don’t want to learn, Richard wants to learn. And then all this came up,” Bradley said, jokingly.

More tweet trouble A Columbus, Ohio, sports talkshow host who showed his disdain for ESPN’s Desmond Howard in a tweet has been suspended by his station.

Scott Torgerson tweeted over the weekend that he wished Howard, a former Heisman Trophy winner at Ohio State’s chief rival Michigan, would get fired or die so Torgerson could again watch ESPN’s College GameDay.

Dave Van Stone, president and general manager of WBNSFM, 97.1, confirmed Tuesday that Torgerson has been suspended indefinitely for the tweet. WBNS is an ESPN affiliate and the flagship station for Ohio State athletics.

Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State player who is a college football analyst on ESPN with Howard, blasted Torgerson by saying the tweet was “disgusting and very sad” and “crossed a line.” Fun for Favre

Brett Favre is finally staying retired from the NFL, and being offensive coordinator of a high school team in Mississippi seems to be easing the transition.

Favre said a go-ahead touchdown pass for his team, Oak Grove, against Meridian at the end of the game exhilarated him like his playing days.

“There was a part of me that felt like I was back up against San Francisco when I was with Minnesota,” said Favre, recalling a game-winning pass in his first game as a Viking in 2009 that won that year’s Espy for “Best Play.”

“If you would’ve asked me after that game if I would ever have that feeling again or even close to that, I would’ve told you no. But I’m sitting here, telling you now, that it was pretty close.”Quote of the day “We’ve finally got some
