Conviction of bin Laden’s driver tossed

Charge was for activity that wasn’t illegal when he did it, U.S. court rules

A U.S. appeals court Tuesday threw out the 2008 conviction of Osama bin Laden’s former driver by a military commission, ruling he was wrongly charged for conduct that at the time wasn’t a crime.
