Beebe to announce 'significant job creation' in Rogers

LITTLE ROCK Gov. Mike Beebe is expected to help announce a significant number of new jobs in Rogers Wednesday.
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission said Tuesday that Beebe would join local officials and representatives from an unidentified company to announce new jobs at 1300 N. Dixieland Road.
No information about the company or the number of jobs was included in a statement from the commission.
But according to minutes posted on its website, the Rogers Planning Commission in August approved a request from Nextlife Enterprises LLC for a conditional use permit to "allow recycling and/or reclamation" at the Dixieland Road site.
The minutes show an official from Nextlife told the board the permit would "allow for the collection of plastics No. 1 thru 7 which are baled and then shipped to a location in Kentucky for further production."
The Florida-based Nextlife creates and sells sustainable plastic resins.
Messages left Tuesday with Nextlife and with the mayor's office in Rogers were not immediately returned.
