Chuck Yeager, a retired Air Force brigadier general who was the first human to fly faster than the speed of sound, achieved the feat again at age 89 in the back seat of an F-15 Eagle above California’s Mojave Desert, the same area where he broke the sound barrier in 1947 while flying an experimental rocket plane.
