Wholesale prices climb 1.1% in September; inflation stable

The Summit Europe oil tanker is docked at the Flint Hills refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, last week. Rising fuel prices pushed wholesale prices 1.1 percent higher in September, the Labor Department said Friday.
A second month of sharp gains in gasoline prices drove wholesale prices higher in September. But outside of the surge in energy, inflation was well contained.
