About 300 Airmen returned Friday morning from Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
About 300 members of the 188th Fighter Wing returned to Fort Smith from Afghanistan on Friday morning.
Most of them had been deployed for three months, although about 50 had been deployed for six months, according to a news release.
The airmen were deployed as part of an Air Expeditionary Forces rotation, in which they provided close-air support using A-10s, commonly called “Warthogs."
