I see Bentonville Voters made the right choice. The comments I read in the paper about the other candidate was pretty alarming. She was upset because Rogers was the first in the area to offer a trade school. What a stupid comment to make instead of complimenting your neighbor on a good job she was mad because she wasn't first. The other comment was kids competing for a position in band for first chair. This was probably the most ridiculous comment from her. I don't know it for fact but I had someone who has kids in the Bentonville system told me that over 100 girls tried out for only 3 positions on the girls softball team. If this is the kind of competition she was talking about. I feel really sorry for those girls & parents & all the good times & memories they wont have just becuse their school was to big for them to play.If so with this type of attitude than it's easy to understand why the Bentonville School Board has been so dysfunctional in the past. Winning in everything is not so great when so many kids are left out. When you have school with4,000 students and you compete with another school who has only 2,000 is that really a great victory for your school. I think not. Bentonville is a great city & have many great families who deserve to have a fun & enjoyable high school experience full of memories. It only happens once then its gone. I don't know what the answer is but someone over there needs to Suck-It-Up and make the second high school first proirty across the board no matter what it takes Get It Done. There have already been 2 schools in the area who have completed the split. I don't think anyone could say the Springdale split was the outcome anyone would want. In Fayetteville winning is more important so they didn't split. So she should have watched & learned from the Rogers split they now have 2 beautiful schools with very nice athletic complexes with demographics equal at both schools. With lots of local history to learn from I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to figure out which direction to go but I guess when you have to be first in everything then you can't agree on anything with anyone.
Good Luck Bentonville you deserve better.
