Dr. J. L. Greene, superintendent of the Arkansas State Hospital for Nervous Diseases, yesterday stated that in his report he will recommend that another ward, similar to the one recently remodeled out of a dairy barn, be built for the accommodation of chronic male patients who are not violently insane. The hospital, recently made from a barn for the use of women patients, is said to be one of the unique buildings of its kind in the country. It is thoroughly modern in every respect and was completed at a cost of only about $15,000.

WASHINGTON - Arkansas’ congressional delegation Monday night mostly praised President Bush for promising not to abandon diplomatic efforts to disarm Iraq. And with the exception of Rep. Vic Snyder, a Democrat, most thought the president’s speech was an effective outline of why Congress should support his request for a resolution authorizing military action. “I think it was an important step in reinforcing the case to the American people. I think it is a very convincing case,” said Sen. Tim Hutchinson, a Republican.
