The Boll Weevils are down to one quarterback after Hunter Leppert tore his anterior cruciate ligament two weeks ago and have lost four consecutive games, the past three by 14 points or more. Henderson State is ranked No. 14 in the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll and has beaten each of its opponents by 23 points or more.

SE OKLAHOMA STATE AT ARKANSAS TECH

WHEN 6 p.m.

WHERE Thone Stadium, Russellville RADIO KWKK-FM, 100.9, in Russellville INTERNET athletics.atu.edu RECORDS SE Oklahoma State 1-3, 0-3 Great American Conference; Arkansas Tech 2-3, 0-2 SERIES Arkansas Tech leads 8-3-1 COACHES SE Oklahoma State: Ray Richards (37-40 in eighth season); ArkansasTech: Steve Mullins (93-72) WHAT TO LOOK FOR Arkansas Tech broke a three-game losing skid and, considering Southeastern Oklahoma State’s record, another victory seems manageable. The Savage Storm have lost three consecutive games, but each of the losses - against Southern Arkansas, Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist - have come against undefeated teams. They also held second-half leads against Southern Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist before losing. Arkansas Tech has the league’s second-worst defense (415.6 yards per game) but has allowed 10 secondhalf points combined in the past two weeks.

A change of venue might be what the Muleriders want, considering Harding beat them 63-14 last year in Magnolia. The teams seem to be a bit more evenly matched this year. Southern Arkansas is off to its best start since 1990. Harding has a chance to go to 5-0 for the first time since 2004, and a 4-0 Harding team hasn’t played another undefeated team since 1972.

Ty Towers, a sophomore recruited as a receiver, played well in a victory last week. OBU didn’t adjust its offense much for the inexperienced Towers, who completed 13 of 23 passes for187 yards and 2 touchdowns, and the Tigers might have to throw even more this week. Southwestern Oklahoma State holds opponents to 96.5 rushing yards per game and 2.8 yards per carry.
