Inclement weather has forced the postponement of the Bella Vista Animal Shelter’s sixth annual “Wiener Takes All” dachshund races and championship on Saturday.
The races have been pushed back to Oct. 13 at the softball field at Loch Lomond. Racers will check in starting at 10 a.m., and the competition will start at 11 a.m.
This year’s races will feature more than 60 dogs. More than 600 people attended last year’s races, which raised $10,665 for the animal shelter.
There will be 10 heats with the winners of each heat vying for the grand champion in the 11th race.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Black Dog DJ and Sound. There also will be food for sale, sponsored by the animal shelter and Bank of the Ozarks.
