Bentonville Black 28, Siloam Springs 6

— Bentonville Black’s Tyrone Mahone had a big night Thursday against Siloam Springs.

Mahone accounted for three of the Tigers’ touchdowns and intercepted a pass on defense. He finished with 142 rushing yards on nine carries and two touchdowns. He also had a 42-yard touchdown pass from Kasey Ford, who overcame an early interception to complete 4 of 5 passes for 104 yards.

After Ford’s interception, Siloam Springs (3-3, 2-3) took an early 6-0 lead when Jordan Norberg found Johnathan Heinrichs for a 25-yard TD pass.

Mahone answered right back with a 68-yard touchdown run to give Black (5-1, 5-0) the lead for good at 7-6.

Austin Roath ran for a six-yard touchdown to make it 14-6 at halftime. Ford hooked up with Mahone for a 42-yard pass for Black’s third touchdown, and Mahone ran for 43-yard TD to set the final score.

Siloam Springs won the eighth-grade game 24-13.
