— Two teenagers were arrested Monday in connection with drive-by blow dart shootings and a drive-by paintball shooting in September.

Jeremy Robert Hendrix, 18, of 2910 W. Beechwood Drive was arrested late Monday. The arrest was in connection with three counts of felony second-degree battery and two misdemeanor counts of third-degree battery, according to a police news release. William Goines, 17, of Rogers was arrested in connection with three counts of felony second-degree battery and two misdemeanor counts of third-degree battery, according to a police news release.

Hendrix and Goines will be charged as adults, according to authorities. Both participated equally in the shootings, according to a police news release.

The two were initially tied to two September blow dart shootings and a drive-by paintball shooting, but other incidents are being reported, said Keith Foster, public information officer.

“I think as it gets more publicized we’re going to get more people coming in,” Foster said.

Chad Grundy, of 712 S. Chateau reported Sept. 13 he was struck by a paintball pellet fired by a man in a moving vehicle. Grundy gave police a license plate number. Police also used surveillance video in tracking the light-colored car used by the pair, Foster said.

Leigh-Ann Archuleta, 19, was hit Sept. 21 in the neck by a dart at 1203 W. Olive St. Police were called to Kohl’s, 301 N. 46th St., Sept. 26 where Katia Barnel Flores, 21, was hit in the back with a blow dart.

That both blow dart victims were Hispanic females is coincidental, said Keith Foster, public information officer.

Detectives discovered the purchase of a blow dart device and darts at Cabela’s and obtained a security photo of the buyer who they identified as Hendrix, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Hendrix told police he and Goines didn’t mean to hit anyone, but Goines said they did because they thought that it was “funny to see them jump” when hit, according to the affidavit.

Goines admitted to police they shot at five or six people Sept. 21, according to the affidavit. He also said they shot darts Sept. 26 at the Sonic Drive-In on East New Hope Road.

Both Hendrix’s and Goines’ residences were searched by police, and a blow gun was found, according to the news release.

Police have received reports of two additional incidents, according to the affidavit. Marshall Brown reported Tuesday he was hit by a dart Sept. 21 while standing in his front yard in the 3600 block of West Beech Drive.

Kristen Hill reported Tuesday she was hit by a paintball in mid-September while walking her dog in the Whispering Timbers subdivision.
