3rd man arrested in clerk’s slaying

— North Little Rock police made a third arrest early Saturday in the Sept. 22 robbery and shooting death of a convenience-store clerk.

Maclin Rogers, 20, of 194 Pike Ave. in Jacksonville was arrested in Jacksonville and charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery, an arrest report states.

Additional details about his arrest were not available Saturday.

Police said three men entered the EZ Mart store at 3600 MacArthur Drive about 9 p.m. Sept. 22 and robbed the business at gunpoint.

The men left, but one man returned and shot and killed the clerk, Akiya Egeston, 29, according to reports.

On Friday, police arrested Jacobi Robinson, 20, of 1201 South Road in Jacksonville, and Davion Howard, 19, of 5 Georgeann Circle in Jacksonville, and charged each with capital murder and aggravated robbery, reports state.

After waiving his rights to remain silent and have a lawyer present, Robinson told officers he was the man who returned to the store after the robbery and shot Egeston, police said.

All three were being held Saturday at the Pulaski County jail. Bail had not been set.
