Purported ham thief held; bail at $30,000

— A Little Rock man accused of selling a truckload of meat he was supposed to deliver to Florida has been ordered held in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Robert Lee, 39, remained in the Pulaski County jail Friday afternoon after making an initial video appearance in Little Rock District Court that morning.

Lee is facing two charges of theft by receiving tied to the stolen trailer full of hams and hot dogs worth a combined $42,000.

Police said Lee was selling the hams out of the back of the trailer before being arrested Thursday morning.

It marked Lee's second arrest in recent days.

On Tuesday, police went to his residence at 5900 Windamere Drive and found him appearing to be "under the influence of narcotics" and acting erratically.

Police say they had to use pepper spray on Lee at one point before arresting him on charges including public intoxication, disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest.

Lee is a suspect in an aggravated assault that happened a short time earlier Tuesday in which a driver used his truck to intentionally ram a pickup, pushing it into a building at 1306 Wright Ave. The pickup driver, who was treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, identified Lee as the driver and said they had been in a "heated exchange" earlier. He said he believed Lee was "attempting to kill him," according to a police report.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said early Friday afternoon that Lee had not been charged in that case.
