CAC’s defense does its job

— Central Arkansas Christian Coach Steve Quattlebaum could find a lot of issues with his team’s play Tuesday night at Little Rock Christian, but he wasn’t complaining about a 51-35 victory over the Warriors.

“I was not real pleased, but I am very proud to come out of here with a victory,” he said. “This is a hard place to play because they play so hard and they play such good defense. We have not won very many over here, so I am pretty proud of that.”

CAC (1-1) held Little Rock Christian (0-1) to four points in the second quarter and just 18 in the first half. A 30-15 advantage in the second and third quarters paved the way for the victory.

“I was pretty pleased with our defense,” Quattlebaum said. “We have some work to do, but I told them if we all get on the same page we have a chance to be a pretty good team.”

Logan Stafford led CAC with 16 points, while Dylan Sherrill had 13 and Josh Holland scored 12.

The Warriors were led by Dylan Coney with 13 points and Taylor Massey, who scored 10, all in the second half.
