— Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson confirmed Monday he planned to play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., as his lone postseason all-star appearance.

Wilson will join fellow Arkansas record holder Cobi Hamilton, who already had committed, in the Jan. 26 game that attracts NFL coaches, scouts and management.

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had this brief description of Wilson on a conference call two weeks ago: “He’s a little side-armed with his delivery, but he’s tough. He’ll hang in there.

“He’s got the ability to look down that gun barrel and make some accurate throws.”

Wilson passed up a shot last season at early entry into the NFL Draft, returned to Arkansas and emerged as the school’s all-time passing yardage leader with 7,765 yards, among his 29 school records.

Two Razorbacks undergo surgery

Two Arkansas freshmen announced through social media they were undergoing surgeries Monday.

True freshman linebacker Otha Peters said he was undergoing surgery for a groin injury.

Redshirt freshman fullback Kody Walker, who broke his leg in a Week 2 loss to Louisiana-Monroe, said he was having “stuff taken out,” likely referring to a stabilizing rod in his leg.
