— New affairs kept private for Dorrell

Eight months after resigning her position on the Arkansas football staff, Jessica Dorrell has landed a new job after moving to South Carolina.

Dorrell, 25, joined the staff of the South Carolina Association of School administrators in a part-time, undisclosed role, Molly Spearman, who is the organization’s executive director, said Monday.

“We’re like any other private organization, and don’t discuss employee decisions,” Spearman said. “But I can confirm she does work here.”

On April 17, Dorrell resigned as Arkansas’ student-athlete development coordinator after her extramarital affair with former Coach Bobby Petrino was disclosed when it was learned she was a passenger on his motorcycle when it crashed in rural Madison County.

At the time, Athletic Director Jeff Long said Dorrell “had a legitimate right” to apply for the job, but the failure to disclose the prior relationship “compromised her ability to be effective in such a position.”

As part of a settlement, she was paid $13,933.75, or a quarter of her annual $55,735 salary, and in return agreed not to sue the university, University of Arkansas System trustees or specific individuals, including Long and Petrino, according to the 13-page agreement. She had been on paid administrative leave since April 10 before reaching the settlement.

In a report on FITSNews.com, Dorrell’s new role was reportedly tied to fundraising for an organization, which is based in Columbia, S.C., representing public-school administrators.

But Spearman said the description is “not accurate” and only added that she does “various tasks” in a role that requires less than 30 hours per week.

Spearman would not elaborate further on what those tasks include.

“We’re not going to discuss anything past that,” Spearman said. “But Jessica has been doing a great job, and we’re very pleased.”

Meanwhile, the report speculates Dorrell has patched up her relationship with fiancee Josh Morgan, who served three seasons as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Razorbacks’ swimming and diving team.

Morgan is now the strength and conditioning coordinator for the South Carolina swimming team, which is also based in Columbia, S.C.

Bieber fever?

It was a rough Sunday for Justin Bieber.

The singer probably figured on receiving at least a polite reception performing at halftime of the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup.

Instead, the 18-year-old endured jeers and boos.

The scene capped an odd week for Bieber in a return to his native land. Earlier in the week, he was presented with the Diamond Jubilee Medal by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Bieber donned overalls, unbuttoned at one shoulder, over a white T-shirt and wore a backward baseball cap.

The uproar was sufficient enough for Harper to comment via Twitter.

“In fairness to him,” Harper wrote Sunday, “I told him I would be wearing my overalls, too.”

And the ill feelings toward Bieber continued into the weekend.

“J-Biebs doesn’t scream football, you know?” Calgary’s Ryan Prisque told The Associated Press.
