— Registration for the annual Christmas parade, set for 7 p.m. Monday, continues online.

To enter a float or group, go online to bit.ly/rcparade.

The theme for this year’s parade, sponsored by Crossland Construction Company Inc., is “Winter Wonderland.”

Entry fees are $20 for floats (trailers pulled by a vehicle), decorated vehicles, walking or marching units, and $30 for groups featuring more than one vehicle, such as car clubs. All entries must be lighted and decorated for the holiday. No entry may carry Santa Claus.

Judging for the four award categories begins at 6 p.m., and entries should be in place along Fifth Street at that time. Cash prizes of $100 each are awarded based on the following criteria: “Spectacular Sparkles,” for the entry that presents an outstanding display of lights or other type of illumination; “Elfin Magic,” for the outstanding entry featuring children; “Glory of Angels,” for the most outstanding entry illustrating a religious theme; and “Knock Your Stockings Off,” given to the entry with the most outstanding use of the parade theme.

The parade starts at 6:45 p.m., and should pass in front of the Frisco Stage at First and Elm streets at 7 p.m. The parade route begins at the corner of Fifth and Poplar streets and travels east to First Street, north to Walnut Street and west on Seventh Street, ending at Tillery Elementary School.

Holiday Hoopla, a series of family-friendly events and activities coordinated by Main Street Rogers, continues with some businesses open late on Thursday nights and Santa visits the caboose at First and Walnut streets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday until Christmas.
