Group Seeks Better Lake

Foundation Formed To Fund Improvements At Reservoir

Posted: November 26, 2012 at 3 a.m.

Steve Dickerson, left, of Farmington, and Jon Tuck of Fayetteville wait for fog to lift Wednesday before going fishing at Beaver Lake. The newly formed Beaver Lake Foundation aims to make improvements at the reservoir and parks the Army Corps of Engineeers can’t fund.

Sometimes, there’s too much fiscal year at the end of the money for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Beaver Lake.

Fledgling Foundation

Kerry Jensen, president of the Beaver Lake Foundation, said the group is in the organizational phase. Fundraising can begin as soon as an agreement document with the foundation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is approved.

What a great idea now the corp of eng. can maybe even have them run a couple of parks so they can use the money else where. Like get a new truck or a jet ski maybe a new boat. they could hire a couple more people to spend it on. anything just spend it so they can get more next year. how about a salary reduction for some of the over paid employee's they have now. there are more chiefs than workers talk about top heavy the corp is, and way over paid. I like the idea of getting rid of the corp on Beaver and let the foundation run the whole show. Probably wouldn't take long to turn a profit. This is a great place for private business to take over the corp lake operations.

The first thing that I would do if I took over Beaver Lake is jack up the price charged for water to all NWA cities. About a 300% price increase for water should do it then troutjig could feel the pain of his stupid ideas.
