49ers use defense to stop Brees

San Francisco strong safety Donte Whitner scores on a 42-yard interception return in the third quarter of the 49ers’ 31-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Colin Kaepernick ran for one score that he made look easy and threw for a touchdown in another performance that backed up Coach Jim Harbaugh’s decision to start him.
