NEW YORK - Nick Doscher passed for two touchdowns and ran for another Saturday and Wagner stopped Colgate in a first-round Football Championship Subdivision playoff game.

The Seahawks (9-3), Northeast Conference champions and winners of nine consecutive, held the Raiders (8-4) to 296 yards. The Patriot League champions were averaging 503.7 yards per game.

A season-high five turnovers hurt Colgate. Wagner’s first score, a 17-yard Doscher pass to Anthony Carrington, came on the first play after Gavin McCarney threw an interception. Colgate’s first three second-half possessions ended in two McCarney fumbles and an interception.

Doscher, who completed 11 of 19 passes for 95 yards and carried 18 times for 91 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass, has thrown 210 consecutive passes without an interception.

Wagner travels to Eastern Washington for a second-round game Dec. 1.

STONY BROOK 20, VILLANOVA 10

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Miguel Maysonet carried 25 times for 160 yards and 2 second-quarter touchdowns as Stony Brook defeated Villanova.

Maysonet, who was leading the nation with 156.5 rushing yards per game, scored on runs of 1 and 14 yards as the Seawolves (10-2) took a 14-0 halftime lead. The senior had a 47-yard run on the second drive.

After Wesley Skeffington added a 37-yard third-quarter field goal, Stony Brook recovered his onside kick and drove for a 29-yard field goal that made it 20-3.

The Wildcats (8-4) got their only touchdown, a 21-yard run by quarterback John Robertson, with 6:57 remaining after a 72-yard drive. Buthe was intercepted on Villanova’s next possession, and with 1:21 left the Wildcats couldn’t get past the Stony Brook 47.

The Seawolves will play at Montana State in the second round Dec. 1.

S. DAKOTA ST. 58, E. ILLINOIS 10

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Zach Zenner ran for 295 yards and three touchdowns to lead South Dakota State past Eastern Illinois.

The Jackrabbits (9-3), who had six rushing touchdowns, face Missouri Valley Football Conference rival North Dakota State (10-1) next Saturday in Fargo, N.D.

Zenner, who carried 33 times, scored on runs of 68, 4 and 7 yards as South Dakota State hosted its first postseason game and won for the first time in three playoff games. Reggie Gandy ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns for South Dakota State and Cam Jones scored twice, one on a pass from Austin Sumner.

Jake Walker ran for 125 yards and the only touchdown for Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Illinois (7-5). Erik Lora caught 12 passes for 133 yards for the Panthers.

COASTAL CAROLINA 24, BETHUNE-COOKMAN 14

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Aramis Hilary threw for 180 yards and a touchdown and added 50 on the ground as Coastal Carolina defeated Bethune-Cookman in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

Hilary completed 19 of 24 passes, and his 3-yard touchdown pass to Matt Hazel gave Coastal Carolina (8-4) a 14-0 lead with 7:16 left in the half.

Bethune-Cookman (9-3) forced Hilary to fumble and throw an interception on each of Coastal Carolina’s first two possessions of the second half but could not capitalize.
