The Janet Huckabee Arkansas River Valley Nature Center in Fort Smith will host its final two Arkansas River Tours for the year on Nov. 30 and Dec. 4. Each tour will depart from the park’s Wildcat Marina.

Early eagle watch tours are set for 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 30. A few eagles reside along the river year-round, but others migrate south to the river for the winter.

The tours include an hour-long stroll around the river to look for wintering bald eagles.

Residents also can join the park staff at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. Dec. 4 for a Wildlife After Dark tour.

Reservations for both tours are requested because space is limited. There is no cost for Arkansas River Tours.
