— In an otherwise forgettable season for the Arkansas Razorbacks, the individual record-chasing of receiver Cobi Hamilton and quarterback Tyler Wilson has been noteworthy.

Hamilton enters Friday’s season finale needing four receptions to reach 169 for his career and overtake Arkansas record holder Jarius Wright (165). In recent weeks, Hamilton surpassed Wright’s single-season records for receiving yards and receptions, bringing totals of 80 catches for 1,237 yards into the game against LSU.

Wilson can pass Clint Stoerner and Ryan Mallett to take the Arkansas record for career passing yards that has been Mallett’s for two seasons. Wilson has 7,406 yards heading into the game and can pass Stoerner (7,422) with 17 yards and overtake Mallett (7,493) with 88 yards.

Getting late

Cobi Hamilton said he has seen excitement out of the coaches this week, even though most, if not all, of the staff will be gone in the coming weeks.

“Guys like Paul Petrino, John L. [Smith], those guys have been around since I’ve been a freshman,” Hamilton said. “It’s like, I guess, taking a part of them away also. It has been an emotional week as it winds down to the end.”

Paul on Knile

Tailback Knile Davis contemplated leaving early for the NFL after his medical hardship sophomore season, and now he’ll have to contemplate returning for his senior year after a subpar season.

“Obviously I think it would be good for him [to come back] because I don’t think he’s really been himself this year, but that’ll be something he’ll have to decide,” offensive coordinator Paul Petrino said

A 1,322-yard rusher in 2010 before fracturing his ankle in fall camp of 2011, Davis has rushed for 346 yards and 2 touchdowns this season and averages 3.3 yards per carry.

Lindsey honored

Former Arkansas standout Jim Lindsey will serve as the A Club honorary captain for the Razorbacks’ season finale Friday against LSU.

Lindsey, a key component on the Razorbacks’ 1964 national championship team, was a three-year letterman and captain of the 1965 team. The Forrest City native led Arkansas in receiving in 1964 with 331 yards and 2 touchdowns on 24 receptions.

Lindsey played in the All-American Game, the College All-Star Game and the Senior Bowl after his final season and was taken in the second round of the 1966 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, where he played in 1966-1972.

He was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1987 and selected for the Arkansas Hall of Honor in 1997.
