TULSA — Arkansas had three players who scored at least 10 points in an 80-57 victory over Oral Roberts on Monday night.
Arkansas (3-0) got 17 points from Quistelle Williams while Jhasmin Bowen had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Keira Peak added 12 points while Melissa Wolff had nine for Arkansas.
“It was a great win tonight,” Arkansas Coach Tom Collen said. “It was a total team effort and it was really fun to watch this group play tonight.”
Arkansas led 43-26 at halftime. Williams had nine and Bowen seven at the break. Collen substituted freely in the first 20 minutes and the Razorbacks racked up 17 bench points and held Oral Roberts’ bench scoreless in the first half.
The Razorbacks shot 47.6 percent (30 of 63) from the field and also out rebounded the Golden Eagles 40-33.
Kevi Luper scored 10 points for the Golden Eagles.
The Razorbacks also forced 17 turnovers and scored 19 points off the Golden Eagle miscues.
SUN BELT WOMEN UALR 47, SMU 43
DALLAS - UALR was held to 36.5 percent shooting, but held SMU to worse than that in its road victory Monday night.
The Trojans (2-1) made 19 of 52 shots, but held the Mustangs (3-1) to 23.2 percent shooting (13 of 56) from the field and 2 of 11 three-point shooting.
Taylor Gault’s three-point play off a steal broke a tie game in the final minute and she finished with a team-high 15 points on 6 of 14 shooting. Freshman Jakeisha Wells added 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting and three other Trojans chipped in with 5 points each.
Taylor Ford, Carolee Dillard and Janette Merriex each had five rebounds to lead UALR, which was out rebounded 45-38.
Akil Simpson led SMU with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Alisha Filmore had 11 points and seven rebounds.
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ST. 52, ARKANSAS STATE 51
JONESBORO - Jordan Hunter’s layup with 4.2 seconds remaining capped Southeast Missouri State’s come-from behind victory over Arkansas State at the Convocation Center.
The Red Wolves (0-4) led 28-12 en route to a 30-16 lead at halftime.
Quinishia McDowell’s desperation three-pointer as time expired fell short and the Redhawks (2-2) secured their first nonconference road victory since Nov. 17, 2007, at Central Arkansas.
Patricia Mack finished with a career high 17 points and 10 rebounds for Southeast Missouri State. Brittany Harriel had 13 points. Jane Morrill led ASU with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Ashley Olvera finished with 16 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
