Arkansas' unemployment rate ticked up to 7.2 percent in October from 7.1 percent in September, the Department of Workforce Services said Tuesday.

The civilian labor force in Arkansas declined by 4,700 since September, to 1,372,1000 workers, the department said in a statement.

“Arkansas’ unemployment rate rose slightly this month, as employment declined 4,700. There are still 10,300 more employed and 11,000 fewer

unemployed Arkansans than in October 2011,” department spokesman Kimberly Friedman said,

Meanwhile, the U.S. unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.9 percent in October.

An increase in hiring helped reduce unemployment rates in 37 of the 50 U.S. states in October, while jobless rates rose in only seven, The Associated Press reported.

OUR US congressman representing the 3rd district says today in his letters to us:

"One of my most important duties as a U.S. Representative is to serve as a liaison between constituents and federal agencies to help with federal problems. Should you be in need of assistance on a personal matter with the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs"

Steve W. seems to be exculusively interested in ONE group of arkansas citizens in the 3rd district. the military soldiers. that is well and good except he has not addressed the concerns for unemployment, infrastructure, health care or other crisis for the rest of the arkansans. Maybe he should get a job with the military, but if you serve all the people of our state, not just one group. aparently he is not big enough to multichannel his interests. so just lets the republicans in washington do his job as he keeps his hands in his pockets.
what about the rest of us Steve Womack?

So, since the Congressman is reaching out to veterans he doesn't care about anyone else. Yeah right. This goes along with all your other anti-military comments. ladyliberty is not a very fitting name. Maybe you should try janefonda.
