UCLA gets by rival for first time since 2006

— Brett Hundley passed for 234 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two more scores as No. 17 UCLA beat No. 18 Southern California 38-28 Saturday, clinching the Pacific-12 South title and snapping a five-game losing streak in their crosstown rivalry.

Eric Kendricks blocked a punt and made a fourth-quarter interception for the Bruins (9-2, 6-2), who overcame intermittent second-half rain and USC’s star-studded lineup.

A year after USC blew out the Bruins 50-0 in a game that led to a coaching change in Westwood, UCLA punctuated its one-year revitalization under Jim Mora with its first victory over the Trojans (7-4, 5-4) since 2006 - just their second in 14 years.

Matt Barkley passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns, but threw two interceptions in the Trojans’ third loss in four games.

In other games involving Pac-12 teams, Keith Price threw a career-best five touchdown passes and No. 25 Washington (7-4, 5-3) overcame a slow start to top Colorado (1-10, 1-7) 38-3 in Boulder, Colo. ... Quarterbacks Taylor Kelly and Michael Eubank accounted for six touchdowns, and Arizona State (6-5, 4-4) became bowl eligible with a 46-7 rout of Washington State (2-9, 0-8) in Tempe, Ariz.

Louisiana Tech falls

RUSTON, La. - Chuckie Keeton threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and Utah State beat No. 20 Louisiana Tech 48-41 in overtime Saturday after letting a 24-point lead slip away.

Utah State scored the game-winning touchdown on a 4-yard run by Kerwynn Williams.

The Aggies (9-2, 5-0) clinched at least a share of the conference title with the victory. They scored on their first offensive play - an 86-yardtouchdown pass on a screen from Keeton to Williams - and racked up 646 yards of total offense.

Utah State jumped out to a 27-3 lead by early in the third quarter, but Louisiana Tech (9-2, 4-1) rallied to tie the game at 41-41 on Matt Nelson’s 32-yard field goal as time expired in regulation.

Louisiana Tech’s Colby Cameron threw an interception late in the second quarter, snapping his NCAA-record streak of 445 passes without an interception.

In another game involving WAC teams, Noah Copeland ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, leading Navy (7-4) to a 21-10 victory over Texas State (3-7) in Annapolis, Md.

MOUNTAIN WEST

Boise State rolls

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State scored on its first offensive play Saturday and never looked back in a 42-14 victory over Colorado State.

Senior D.J. Harper went untouched on an 80-yard touchdown run, and the Broncos (9-2, 6-1 Mountain West) scored on five of their six first-half possessions against the Rams (3-8, 2-5) to keep their conference title hopes alive. Boise State entered the day tied with Fresno State and San Diego State in the Mountain West.

Harper finished with 107 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Quarterback Joe Southwick completed 17 of 20 passes for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns in a little more than one half of action.

Colorado State trailed 42-0 when it finally scored on a career-long 72-yard run by Chris Nwoke with 2:09 in the third quarter. The Rams managed only 229 total yards and had three turnovers.

In other games involving Mountain West teams, Nevada’s Cody Fajardo threw three touchdown passes and ran for a career high 186 yards to help the Wolf Pack (7-4, 4-3) beat New Mexico (4-8, 1-6) 31-24 in Albuquerque, N.M. ... Following a career performance last week, Wyoming (4-7, 3-4) quarterback Brett Smith bested that by completing 25 of 33 passes for 412 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Cowboys to a 28-23 victory over UNLV (2-10, 2-5) in Las Vegas.
